610100 StudMates™ Frame Locating Screws
Designed for use in pre-punched dimpled holes in thin steel wall frame applications in steel frame housing, StudMates™ - SupaLow™ Serrated Head feature high shear, withdrawal & strip torque and have high resistance to vibration. Additional benefits include very low driving torque resulting in easier installation, less tool wear and operator fatigue. Available in two sizes including a 5/16"-18 diameter product for heavy duty cyclonic applications.

The recommended hole diameters vary dependent upon the total thickness of materials being fastened together.
For thinner materials a smaller hole size is recommended as this will give a higher % of thread engagement.
For thicker materials a larger hole size is recommended as this will give lower driving torque with a lower % of thread engagement.
Recommended Pilot Hole sizes are:-
For 14g-20 x Length StudMates™
• 1.00~1.50mm - 4.90mm to 5.10mm
• 1.00mm steel to 1.00mm steel - 5.10mm to 5.30mm
For 5/16"-18 x Length StudMates™
• 1.00~1.50mm ~ 6.50mm
• 1.60~3.20mm ~ 7.10mm
StudMates™ Threadformers™ are equally suited to fixing in heavy steel and blind holes.
As the hardness of steel materials varies, the tolerances on drilled versus punched holes also varies and the choice of % of thread engagement is at the installers discretion, it is recommended for a pre-test to be conducted to confirm the most suitable hole size and type for your specific application.
