306800 Nylon Screw Plugs

Nylon Screw Plugs are general purpose anchor suitable for light to medium duty applications subject to the diameter of the Screw Plug and screws used. The combination of Plug and screw provides a strong and sturdy connection with sizes suitable for screws from 4g (3mm) up to 18g (8~9mm) or M8 coach screws. Can be used in concrete, solid and hollow brick, stone, solid and hollow block as well as light weight concrete. .

Step 1:-
Select the correct size screw and Screw Plug combination for the intended application.

Step 2:-
A clearance hole for the selected screw is recommended in the material, bracket etc being fastened and this will also assist with alignment during installation.

Step 3:-
Place the fixture against the substrate concrete, masonry etc and mark the position for drilling your hole.
Avoid drilling the hole too close to the edge of the masonry as the expansion action of the anchor during installation may cause splitting of the masonry.

Step 4:-
Select the correct size IDEAL Fasteners Carbide drill bit for your chosen diameter and length of Screw Plug anchor.

Step 5:-
Using a Rotary Hammer tool or a suitable Impact tool, drill a hole into the concrete or masonry substrate to a depth that will allow the Screw Plug to be fully inserted PLUS an additional depth of at least 1 to 1.5 times the diameter of the specific Screw Plug Anchor being used.

Step 6:-
Ensure the hole is clean of all dust and/or contaminants that may obstruct the insertion of the Screw Plug anchor to the required depth. Using a blow pump or vacuum and/or a wire brush is ideal if the dust cannot be sufficiently removed with the drill bit when drilling the hole.

Step 7:-
Place the Screw plug in the hole and lightly tap it with a hammer until it is flush with the surface of the substrate.

Step 8:-
Position the fixture against the substrate with the clearance holes aligned with the drilled holes in the substrate.
Insert the screw through the fixture and into the Screw Plug in the substrate.

Step 9:-
Drive the screw home by hand or power driver until firmly secured. DO NOT over tighten
• Dependent on the size combination selected and the substrate being fixed to they can be used for light duty applications such as signs, or house numbers up to heavier duty applications such as garage roller doors.
